The Councillor of the Presidency, Public Administration and the Interior of the Andalusian Regional Government recently visited the town during his official visit to the municipality, where he was received by the Mayor.
As far as the Marina project is concerned, it is a firm commitment that La Axarquía will have an environmentally sustainable marina, with all the legal requirements and that it can be built within a reasonable period of time. He said that the technical project will be ready by Easter, indicating that it will be the “most sustainable port in our country” and that it will generate employment and wealth and will definitely promote its construction in the most suitable location. In addition, he stressed that it is an initiative of the Consistory in public-private partnership, which is promoted by the Andalusian Government.
According to the Councillor, the eastern coast of the province of Malaga needs infrastructure to boost its economy. Its two driving forces are the agri-food sector, which despite the health crisis has functioned at full capacity, surpassing export records, and tourism as the second largest economic stronghold in the area.
